Vision

To enhance and elevate the status of the Faculty of Economics as a leading and distinguished faculty among the economics faculties of universities in the southern and western regions of Afghanistan by the year 2030.

 

Goals And Objectives

The Faculty of Economics, in its mission statement, has given due consideration to the key factors related to addressing the essential needs and fundamental issues of its primary stakeholders (both internal and external). In this regard, the core missions of the faculty include:

  • Preparing and developing qualified and specialized human resources required by the country in the fields of economics and management;
  • Promoting scientific and academic cooperation in the implementation of the country’s development plans in collaboration with relevant governmental and non-governmental institutions;
  • Enhancing the quantitative and qualitative standards of educational services for applicants in accordance with national and international standards;
  • Producing and advancing scientific knowledge;
  • Strengthening teaching and learning processes based on sound academic principles;
  • Promoting the effective and widespread application of scientific and research achievements at the national level through theoretical and academic approaches;
  • Expanding cooperation and information exchange with all academic and scientific centers within and beyond the university;
  • Conducting scientific research and scholarly studies to meet societal needs and contribute to economic development.

Mission

The overarching objectives of the faculty are structured around four strategic axes: education, research, community engagement, and human resource management, as outlined below.

  1. Objectives Related to the Educational Strategy
    1. Providing scientific and academic educational services at the highest possible standard for students and other applicants;
    2. Preparing and improving educational facilities to support individual academic and personal development within the faculty;
    3. Enhancing the academic qualifications and academic ranks of Faculty members;
    4. Creating opportunities for graduates to pursue postgraduate studies at the master’s level;
    5. Ensuring access to advanced educational equipment and supportive instructional technologies.
  2. Objectives Related to the Research Strategy
    1. Strengthening analytical and research capacities among academic staff and students;
    2. Promoting extension, scientific, and research activities aligned with the objectives of the faculty’s departments.
  3. Objectives Related to the Faculty’s Role in Society
    1. Preserving and enhancing the social standing and public image of the faculty;
    2. Providing opportunities for the active participation of institutions, entrepreneurs, and professionals within the faculty;
    3. Expanding scientific, educational, and research collaborations with relevant institutions at the provincial and national levels.
  4. Objectives Related to the Management and Human Resources Strategy
    1. Strengthening a culture of rule of law and adherence to regulations;
    2. Promoting the use of effective and efficient evaluation systems;
    3. Enhancing human resource management with an emphasis on recruitment, retention, and professional development.
