Department of National Economics

Introduction

The Department of National Economics was established in 1398 SH (2019/2020) within the Faculty of Economics at Farah University.

The Department currently has 106 students enrolled in its academic programs. Its academic staff consists of four faculty members, including two with Master's degrees and two with Bachelor's degrees.

The Department aims to provide students of National Economics with both theoretical and practical professional education to enable them to contribute to the public and private sectors by identifying and addressing economic challenges, improving the management of productive resources, increasing productivity, and supporting the sustainable growth of the national economy.

Vision

To establish itself as a leading Department of National Economics in the Western Zone of Afghanistan by 1406 SH (2027/2028) through applied research and the contribution of experienced and qualified faculty members in educating committed and competent young professionals for the growth and prosperity of the national economy.

Mission

To educate qualified professionals in the field of National Economics through experienced and specialized academic staff; to enhance the scientific capacity of young people; to promote scientific and applied research; to analyze the country's economic challenges; and to provide effective solutions that contribute to sustainable development and facilitate economic decision-making at the national level.

Objectives

  2. To create appropriate learning opportunities that support students' personal and academic development.
  3. To enhance the analytical and research capacities of faculty members and students.
  4. To strengthen academic, research, and outreach activities relevant to the Department.
  5. To expand academic, educational, and research cooperation with relevant institutions at the provincial and national levels.
